Alcholism Prevention in Orissa, Camp #1

While visiting India in 2005 and 2008 I had the opportunity to meet with Urgen Tenzin who is a leader of Tibetan Camp #1 in Orissa, India.  I had taken the opportunity to explain the mission of Pure Inspiration and he shared the challenges that exist within Camp #1.

He shared with me that alcoholism has become a major issue which Camp leadership is struggling to resolve.

After consultation with Geshe Menlom and our board, it was decided that Pure Inspiration will provide support toward a resolution of the Alcoholism issue.

Our plan is to bring one of the leaders (Urgen Tenzin) of Camp #1 over to the United States in order to obtain training in alcoholism treatment.

We are currently seeking a visa for Urgen.
